Singer/Songwriter and blues gitarist, Peter Koorn aka Peter Corn, was almost raised up at Paradiso, first performing at Paradiso’s Latente Talenten, his selfwritten material at age 15 and then doing local band gigs at Bluesclub Maloe Maloe, de Stip and the Kroeg. At age 18 Peter joined the the Alfredo Brothers as leadsinger and songwriter. The band was picked up by Radio VARA’s, Henk Westbroek and had a quick start doing concerts at the Amsterdam Melkweg, Paradiso, Tivoli, and lot’s of other venues performing opening shows for Solomon Burke, Wilson PIckett and later with his own Peter Corn Band, Maceo Parker. Though in the limelight of big recording labels, The Alfredo Brothers never signed a recording contract due to the stubborn behaviour of the band. During negotiations with Universal they said they wanted to be produced by Willie Mitchell… instead of several suggested famous Dutch producers. It never got that far, until march 2012 when Peter got in touch with Lawrence Boo Mitchell, son of Willie Mitchell who recorded and co produced his album Love is here at Memphis Royal Studios, with the original Hi Rhythm Band, which was published in december 2012 on the memphis Royal Studios Waylo records label. In 2013 Peter recorded his second album Sixty Roses, published in 2015, also on the Royal Studios Waylo records label and produced together with Lawrence Boo MItchell who also produced (Al Green/John Mayer/Rod Stewerd) and the original Hi Rhytm section, The Hodges brothers, Teenie (composer of Love and Happiness and Take me to the River), Leroy and Charles and with arranger, pianist Lester Snell (Isaac Hayes Movement and drummer Steve Potts. The Memphis Horns, The Norman Sisters and local songstres Tameka “Big Baby” Preston Shannon, mr Bealstreet, also tributed his guitar to the song Let’s get together for a little while on the album Sixty Roses. The albums are pressed on cd and vinyl and sold in the Netherlands threw Platomania and will be digitally distributed by Awal in januari 2018. In januari 2018 Peter releases official his third album Stay. Recorded and produced at Wisseloord by Hans Eijkenaar and his fourth album, Memphis Collected which contains all the recordings of the Memphis sessions recorded at Royal Studios with the Hi Rhythm Band and with the original board mixes of Lawrence Boo Mitchell.
